SOUTH SHORE YMCA

Supporting our Y neighbors during back-to-school time

Over the past two weeks, the team at the South Shore YMCA distributed gift cards from local grocery stores to help local families purchase groceries and school supplies needed during this back-to-school season, all thanks to the Greater Boston Food Bank and their partnership with Shaws/Star Market.

The residents of the Germantown community in Quincy were extremely thankful for some extra help with purchasing back-to-school supplies and healthy snacks.

“This couldn’t have come at a better time,” said Rose, a Germantown resident preparing to send her grandchildren back to school. “It’s such a hard time of year for everyone, it’s great to know the YMCA is here for us”.

This is one of the ways the South Shore YMCA works with local partners to help feed and support our community during challenging times, including the Y’s food pantry and community programming at the Germantown Neighborhood Center to support families.
